Requirements for Hosting

  • Provide a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment.

  • Offer a private bedroom with adequate study space.

  • Supply three nutritious meals a day.

  • Be willing to engage in the student's life and provide support as needed.

  • Undergo a background check and attend a host family orientation session.

What's Involved in Hosting

  • Welcoming the student at the beginning of their stay and helping them settle in.

  • Providing guidance on local customs and helping the student acclimate to the community.

  • Offering transportation or guidance on using public transport for school and activities.

  • Maintaining regular communication with HSI coordinators to ensure the student's well-being.
