Wow, another month has flown by! I won’t lie—I’ve been feeling pretty homesick lately. But I’ve come to realize that homesickness is something most exchange students experience at some point. It’s all about mindset. When I’m feeling down, I try to focus on the positives because there are so many great things happening here!
Halloween Celebrations and Family Time in Liverpool
Let’s dive into what I’ve been up to! I’ve had a busy month since my last blog post. First up, we had a Halloween dress-up day at school right before our mid-term break. There’s something really special about dressing up in school here in Ireland, especially since we usually wear uniforms every day. Everyone, including the teachers, got into the spirit! I dressed up as Freddie Mercury, though I don’t have any pictures to share.
After school that day, I flew to Liverpool to meet my family. It was so nice to see them again, and we had a blast in Liverpool. One of the highlights was going to Anfield Road to watch Liverpool play against Tottenham. Liverpool won, and we were all thrilled!
Here’s a picture of my dad, brother, and me at the match—such a great memory!
Halloween Parties and November Blues
I returned from Liverpool on the 30th of October, just in time for two Halloween parties—one on the 30th and another on the 31st. Both parties were a lot of fun, and the costumes were fantastic! I dressed up as a hippie, and my friends had some awesome costumes too.
But then November arrived… I’m not the biggest fan of November, to be honest. It feels like a long wait for Christmas. But I’ve been keeping busy and enjoying lots of fun activities with friends.
Viking Splash Tour and Christmas Shopping
A few weeks ago, my friend and I went on a Viking Splash Tour in the city centre. It’s a unique sightseeing tour where you ride in a vehicle that can travel on both land and water. We looked a bit silly, but we had so much fun!
As Christmas gets closer, I’ve already started my Christmas shopping. The shopping here in Ireland is so much better than in Norway! Last week, two of my friends and I went to Kildare Village, a large outlet mall with beautiful Christmas decorations. We spent the day shopping and soaking in the festive atmosphere.
Check out how beautiful it is—it really put me in the Christmas spirit!
Looking Forward to Christmas at Home
Since this is my last blog post before Christmas, I want to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season! I’ll be heading home to Norway for two weeks to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s Eve with my family, friends, and dogs—I can’t wait!
I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas, and I’ll be back next year with more updates.
See you in 2024!
