Making the Most of My Final Moments Studying Abroad in Ireland

Writer: Ana S.Ana S.

Time Flies When You're Having Fun

Since my last update, I’ve received my mock exam results, enjoyed a well-earned break, and realised just how fast time is passing. In my mind, it still feels like October when my exchange year of studying abroad in Ireland had just begun! People say time flies when you're having fun, and that has definitely been true for me. Now, with less than two months left in Ireland, I’m making a conscious effort to appreciate my surroundings while I still can.

Mock Exams: A Pleasant Surprise

I was pleased with my mock results! While some subjects, like maths, showed significant improvement, I also noticed the increased workload compared to my Christmas exams. To my surprise, I didn’t fail a single subject. I’m really proud of the effort I put into my studies and will continue working on my weaker areas.

A Relaxing Mid-Term Break

During mid-term, I stayed with my host family instead of returning home, and I still had an amazing time. I binge-watched five seasons of The Big Bang Theory and took a trip to Cork with my host brother and sister. The break was just what I needed to recharge for the final stretch of my exchange.

Fun Weekends at School

One standout memory from the past month was the weekend we had English mock exams. Afterwards, we all went out to eat, which was a great distraction from the stress of studying.

The next day, we went on the Cliff Walk at Dunmore East. We took some hilarious photos of ourselves pretending to fall - it was a fun escape from school life and a chance to soak in Ireland’s beautiful scenery.

Movie Nights with Friends

Lately, my friends and I have been organising movie nights in one of the empty rooms at school. It’s been so much fun to rewatch my favourite films and see their reactions. Recently, we watched La La Land and The Notebook, both of which I hadn’t seen before.

Looking Ahead to Easter Break

With Easter break fast approaching, I’m making the most of the good weather by spending time outdoors with friends. My main goal for these last few weeks is to soak up every moment and maintain a sense of peace as this incredible experience comes to an end.
