Happy New Year! Welcome to my 5th blog.
I had the chance to go back to Japan for the New Year and spent quality time with my family. But before diving into that, let me share about the incredible Christmas ball we had last month.
A Night to Remember: The Christmas Ball
Our Christmas ball took place on the 10th of December, and it was an unforgettable experience. We took lots of photos, enjoyed a festive dinner, and danced the night away! This was my second time attending, and it was even more fun than the first because everyone was so energetic after dinner.
Since it was my first time fully joining in, I just followed what my friends did, but I had such a great time. It was the best Christmas ball yet! One of the most memorable moments was seeing our teachers dancing to “YMCA” on the tables—I’ll never forget that scene!
I also managed to take plenty of photos with friends, even with those I didn’t know very well. These pictures will be cherished memories.
Heartwarming Moments Back in Japan
In Japan, I had a wonderful time reconnecting with my family and friends. What I miss most about Japan are the people. While it’s fun to talk with friends in the UK, it’s different from the familiarity and comfort I feel with my Japanese friends and family. This trip reminded me of how irreplaceable everyday moments are.
I also missed my dogs dearly—they seemed even cuter to me after being away. They were still as friendly as ever, and I already miss them even though I’ve just returned.
One special highlight of my trip was celebrating my sister’s 20th birthday on the 24th of December. In Japan, turning 20 is a significant milestone, so I was thrilled to be with her on this important day. My sister wore a traditional kimono, and our whole family took photos together, something we hadn’t done in a long time. I’m eagerly awaiting those pictures. Though my sister found the kimono a bit uncomfortable and was slightly grumpy at dinner with our relatives, she looked absolutely stunning.
Catching Up with Friends and Looking Ahead
During the holidays, I also spent time with my friends. It was comforting to see that they hadn’t changed much since I last saw them, and we had so much to talk about. I especially enjoyed hearing about their school lives, as many things have changed since I was there.
To be honest, I wasn’t really looking forward to coming back to school because assessment week is just around the corner. But when I thought about seeing my friends again, I couldn’t help but feel excited. Time seems to fly by so quickly when I’m at school, so I’m trying to appreciate each moment and do my best in everything I do.
I’m also excited about the upcoming half-term break when I’ll be travelling to Germany with a friend. I can’t wait to share my experiences in my next blog!
