Our popular Junior Residential programme is back this summer with a modern twist!
Students will have the opportunity to learn the principles of robotics, components, coding and how to solve programming problems, combined with 15 hours of English on this new course from HSI.
With a new take on the traditional two week English language programme, students will learn to write computer programs and how to load them into our robots to control their behaviour. Along the way, they will learn what a robot is and use our robots to explore some key concepts in cognitive science.
This course focuses on hands-on exploration of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) topics using a ‘SESCA’ robot with an Arduino Uno, as an example of a micro-controller based autonomous control system.
This residential programme will take place at the newly refurbished St Patrick’s College, which is part of DCU. The college is located between Dublin Airport and Dublin city centre.
