Category: Ireland Irish High School

A standard day school is the equivalent of a public school in most other countries. These schools are privately owned but maintained by the Irish Government. They are located in a wide range of locations throughout Ireland, often forming an important part of the local community.

Many, but not all, standard day schools have been built recently and so benefit from very modern academic and sports facilities. Class sizes will be bigger than in the private school sector, with approximately 20 – 25 students per class, so there is less individual attention, but nevertheless still excellent standards of teaching.
