What is an academic high school programme?

Our high school programmes are designed to help students aged 13 to 17 achieve their goals of studying abroad.

Most students will attend the year long academic programme (usually September to July), although we can offer programmes that last one term, two years, or longer.

Guardianship is included in all of our academic high school programmes, as well either boarding or home stay accommodation.

High Schools International have been providing students with academic high school programmes for nearly 30 years.

We know what we do, and we do it well.

Before we make any formal applications to schools, we will ask for:

  • A completed Pre-Application form
  • Official evidence of the student’s level of English
  • Transcripts of the previous two year’s school reports

With these documents we will be able to give students the best possible chance of getting a place at a school.

In addition, it is important that any student who wishes to join one of our academic high school programmes must:

  • be aged between 8 and 18 years
  • have a reasonable level of English
  • have achieved average or higher than average grades in the last two years of school
  • be in good health
  • be positive about participating in the programme
  • be prepared to make the effort to adapt when they arrive
